Globa-Family

Who are the persons behind Globadev?

Globadev is initiated by Cheryl Van Kempen. The company is being registered as we speak.

The story behind Globadev is that I grew up in the Gambia and Burkina Faso and I have been working for years as a volunteer to support development in these and other African countries. One of the things I did was initiating an ICT for Development (ICT4D) initiative – Rural Web. For the sake of that initiative I started to use Social Media more and more and I noticed that it was a good way to be in contact with people at the other end of the Globe. Through Facebook and other social media I tried to teach how to use ICT more efficiently. Unfortunately I didn’t have the time to let Rural Web grow to its full potential. At the same time, I kept seeing beautiful products during my travels, for which I was convinced there was a market in the Netherlands. These two things have now come together in Globadev. The entire philosophy behind Globadev really has been ripening and improving since 2011. In 2018 this resulted in a business concept: a social enterprise based on dropshipping and creative business models.

As you can read on this site, Globadev collaborates with many experts. We are always looking for new trade partners, researchers, business- and development experts who can help increase Globadev’s impact. We also like to work with creatives and influencers. We like to develop and spread knowledge.
